I placed preorders for the X from multiple retailers as soon as they were advertised. Still, I have a used one coming to test out for comparison.ĪMS definitely received a few units a few weeks ago. It's crazy that something like the Toraiz retails for more than the MPC and it has 256mb ram, barely any internal storage, and no battery. I know my particular intentions with the device are specific and maybe not the target audience/focus. I want to see if the simple/familiar flow and the forethought in the context of live playback matters in my setup.
I have a used Toraiz on the way to try for a month as well, which is extremely limited in comparison. So i wanted a standalone maschine, thought I'd try the MPC. I also didn't really get it for the primary purpose of "making" the music, moreso the primary goal was to perform my half-cooked tracks I've made in Ableton (or on maschine, before selling, or even on MPC once I wrapped my head around it) but due to the extreme complexity of the unit, the actual playback/live modes aren't as fluid as I'd like.
