It appears that the files in the link below might rectify the problem, but when I try to install two of the patches, it asks me for a folder (I'm assuming such because what little German I have isn't technical), but at no point will it let me choose a folder the OK or Continue buttons are grayed out regardless of what I try to do. I've installed the community patches and other assorted hotfixes. This cycle takes about a second and a half and continues indefinitely. When standing still, the screen will flash to the game, then blue, back to the game then blue. It doesn't appear to be loading the area (which I initially suspected) as it will stutter indefinitely if I just leave it sitting.
If the 'range of view' (view distance) is set to anything other than 20%, the game stutters uncontrollably. Well, everything is beautiful, except for a single problem that I've spent two hours googling in vain for. This time, I have a machine that should be able to spank its ass.
So, I feel like playing through G2 again.
